Hi, I’m Martin. I grew up in Tauranga and after finishing my training at Massey University in late 1993, I started working in Auckland. I moved back home to work in Tauranga where I have been since 2000. Initially my first 17 years in Tauranga were in mixed practice and now I exclusively work with smaller animals. This included developing a special interest in working with birds and exotic species since 2010. I sat examinations to become a Member of the Australia and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in both Medicine and Surgery of Unusual Pets in 2019 and Avian Medicine and Surgery in 2024. I also have interests in ophthalmology, dentistry and surgery and have recently worked in the local emergency veterinary hospital. Outside of work, I enjoy photography and creating things with wood.
